Make up week: complete all missing work and email when it is done.
Vocab- master 20 words to overturn any Zeroes into 50%. Master 25 to make it 100%
Short Stories: From the attached ebook, read ANY two stories. For one story, write a paragraph summarizing the story. For the other, write a paragraph discussing how the story relates to the real world. For example, in "Rocket Night", an unpopular child is sent into space. In our school, those less than popular kids get left out at lunch, or the "cool" groups. In "Saying Good-bye to Yang" we learn about the dependency on technology. Put both in the same word doc and post it on TurnitIn.

Your paper should be a minimum of five paragraphs and include three intext citations.
Did you…
…start any sentences with And, So, But or Or? Make them compound!
…write out all numbers less than THREE digits?
…write in past tense?
...use transition words or phrases?
…check all compound sentences: do you have both a comma and conjunction?
… stay in the same voice (1st or 3rd)
…use YOU in your paper? (only acceptable in quotations). Do not "talk" to the reader
...indent when you had a new time, place, idea, or speaker?
...write out all contractions?
...capitalize all proper nouns?
...avoid words such as "like" and "okay"
Introduction: Present a clear idea through the thesis statement. Remember that each idea in your paper must be in your intro. Is your intro interesting?
Body Paragraphs: Each should have a transition. Place your best paragraph first and include relevant citations. Stay on one topic for each paragraph.
Conclusion: Restate the main idea and recap the key points in each paragraph. Leave your reader with something to think about further.
